We conduct short studies with participants ranging from infants starting at 2 months of age, and children from 4 to 17 years of age, through adulthood. Will I receive anything for participating in a lab study?
Participating in studies can be a fun opportunity to learn about your child and contribute to scientific knowledge! All babies and children go home with fun goodies (UNLV Rebel Swag t-shirts and onesies, toys from our toy menu, and custom photo souvenirs to share with your family and friends). We also have a graduation program in which our participants can earn their bachelors, masters, and PhD degrees! We also offer gift cards for certain studies.
What will happen if I bring my child or baby to participate in a study?
In our lab we use a variety of behavioral techniques to see how infants and children respond to music and languages. For babies, this means measuring where and when infants look towards the source of a sound. For children, this involves playing computer games. Parents are always present throughout all parts of the study.​
